Rainbow Granny Square Blanket

Rainbow Granny Square Blanket COMPLETE -AuntyNise.com
This was a great project to make. I love rainbows and I love Granny Squares.

This blanket consists of 49 squares total – 7 x 7 squares, that are stagnated to show off each matching coloured square diagonally.

This is what I started with. Just 7 squares – one of each colour combination.

It is great as a lap blanket for a small adult, or it’s great for a baby’s cot or pram.

Pastel Rainbow Granny Squares (Crochet)

Granny Square Coaster (Rainbow Pastel 10) - AuntyNise.com

Making the Rainbow Granny Squares was really fun, I think I’ll be making more of them soon. Possibly even turn them into a blanket or tablecloth. I’ll post about it when I do. Maybe even make a tutorial on how to make it.

A lot of people suggested I try making the rainbow granny squares in pastel colours, which I thought was a great idea. As I didn’t have all the colours of the rainbow I needed, in pastels, I had to buy some. Buying yarn can be a dangerous mission for Knitters and Crocheters. We usually come home with more than actually needed. “I could probably use this colour/yarn for another project. Ye…I should get it. Oh wait, that yarn looks good too. I better get it as well.”

If this happens to any other Crafters, tell me you funny stories. Last time I went shopping for yarn, I came back with a plastic new storage tub to fit my extra yarn in, as my current tub is over-flowing. 😛

Granny Square Coaster (Rainbow Pastel 10Combinations) - AuntyNise.comFor my pastel rainbow granny squares, I decided to make every rainbow colour sequence combination possible using the 5 pastel colours I had, plus white. Which came out to be 10 different squares.

They are the perfect size for a cup/mug coaster. They are a great addition to the Rainbow Granny Square collection, I’ve made for myself.

I loved them so much, I wanted to share them with everyone, including selling them. You can buy them as packs or just individuals. You can find all of these available on Etsy. And if you have questions or special order requests, send me an email or use the Esty message button in any of the picture links above.

Rainbow Granny Squares (Crochet)

I am a self-taught crocheter, as well as being a well “established” knitter. I’ve been knitting since I was in early primary school, but I only taught myself to crochet in the past few years.

My new found craft hobby combined with my love for rainbows meant I could create my Rainbow Granny Squares.

I started experimenting with my favourite bright rainbow colours and created these vibrant rainbow granny squares placemats and coasters.
Granny Square Patch- Daytime Rainbow Chakra (RedBorder) - AuntyNise_comGranny Square Patch- Nighttime Rainbow Chakra (PurpleBorder) - AuntyNise_comAs I love everything to be balanced, I had to make the squares starting with red and circling out to purple and vice-verso, starting with Purple and circling out to Red.

The Red Bordered squares reminded me of a warm summer morning, so I gave them the name “Day-time” and the Purple Bordered squares reminded me of a winter sunset, and I gave them the name “Night-time”.

Best-Friendship Bracelets

I used to be obsessed with making friendship bracelets when a friend showed me how, when I was 10.

I made them with cotton as well as acrylic yarn, in a array of colours. I would take special orders from my friends and family using their favourite colours.

Recently I started making them again. I didn’t want to choose just 1 or a few colours, so I chose them ALL. Check them out below.

I chose to do 2 different designs (Chevron and Stripe). [Click on any of the images to enlarge them and find out more.]

As a child and teenager, my friends and I used to have matching bracelets. I tried to re-create this by making “Best-Friendship Bracelets”.

As with all of my creations, these are available on Etsy. If you have questions or special order requests, send me an email or use the Esty message button in any of the picture links above.
